MANILA, Philippines -- A new flash report broadcast aired during ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block chronicles behind-the-scenes development for the Kapamilya network's upcoming romance-drama series, "A Beautiful Affair."

Dubbed "Primetime Bida Patrol," the 30-second "newscast" goes behind the scenes of the Katski Flores-directed soap, revealing details on the development of the highly anticipated TV reunion of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo.

For its maiden broadcast (above), "Primetime Bida Patrol" gave a sneak peek of Cruz's workshop under the tutelage of Filipino painter Fernando Sena.

"Kakaiba, kasi talagang nag-basic workshop ako. Sketching, drawing -- umabot doon 'yung preparation," Cruz said in the reel.

In "A Beautiful Affair," the Kapamilya leading man, according to the show's official website, portrays Leon, an "artist/genius architect who loses the will to live as brought by the guilt over his adoptive mother’s death."

Joining Cruz and Alonzo in the series are John Estrada, John Arcilla, Jaime Fabregas, Jim Paredes, Slater Young, Megan Young and Maritoni Fernandez.

The series' cast, along with its staff and crew, underwent a team-building workshop, as reported in the second edition of "Primetime Bida Patrol" (above).

"We should have a team-building for every soap. Ang saya eh. I mean, kailangan bonded kayo talaga," Estrada said of the experience.

"Tweets" and online buzz on the upcoming primetime series, meanwhile, were covered by a third "Primetime Bida Patrol" report. In the newscast's fourth edition, an official soundtrack for "A Beautiful Affair" was reported to be set for a release.

Billed as the "long-awaited return of the love team that defined a generation," "A Beautiful Affair" is Alonzo and Cruz's first TV project together in four years. It also marks the 10th anniversary of their onscreen team-up.

The series will premiere on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida on October 29.
