MANILA, Philippines – “American Idol” runner up Jessica Sanchez finally broke her silence on rumors that she will be coming in on the hit American musical series “Glee” as Finn’s newest love interest.
In an interview with E! Online’s Marc Malkin during the Carousel of Hope Ball held last Saturday (Sunday in Manila), Sanchez said she is not yet sure as to what her storyline on the show will be.
However, she said that if rumors are true, being Finn’s new love interest would be interesting.
"Everybody thinks that, but I'm not even sure. That would be interesting," she said.
Finn is played by actor Cory Monteith.
Several netizens were abuzz when they learned about the news that Sanchez is joining “Glee.” The hashtag “Jessica Sanchez on Glee” even made it to Twitter’s trending topics.
But when the U.S. website TVLine broke the news, it included a question within the article that sparked an online buzz.
“Might she be the much-buzzed-about new love interest for Finn?!” TVLine asked.
This started online speculations that Sanchez, who is half Filipino, could be Finn’s love interest.
Meanwhile, Malkin said in the article that Sanchez will be in “a couple” of episodes on “Glee.”
"We met up with Ryan Murphy. I guess he found me interesting after that, and now I'm going to be on 'Glee.' It's amazing. It's awesome," Sanchez said.
The 17-year-old singer will be starting to tape episodes in January and her scenes will be shown in March.
