MANILA, Philippines - Veteran actress Nora Aunor expressed happiness as her two films made it to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Aside from "El Presidente," her movie with George "ER" Ejercito, "Thy Womb" by award-winning director Brillante Mendoza got a last-minute slot in this year's festival.

"Natutuwa po ako, at nakaka-miss din po. Kasi noong araw, minsan dalawa 'yung kasali na pelikula ko. Masaya po ako at nakikita ng mga tao na nabibigyan ko rin sila ng kasiyahan," she told ABS-CBN News.

In "El Presidente," Aunor plays the role of Maria Agoncillo, the second wife of the Philippines’ first President Emilio Aguinaldo.

In "Thy Womb," she portrays the character of a Badjao midwife coping with her own infertility.

Aunor received the prestigious Bisato d' Oro Award for her portrayal in "Thy Womb." The trophy was conferred on the veteran actress by the Premio Della Critica Indipendente, a jury of independent film critics.
