MANILA, Philippines - Actress Maja Salvador hopes that her latest movie, "Thelma," would win awards this year.

In an interview on "E-Live" on Saturday, Salvador said they worked very hard on this project.

'Yon ata 'yung hinihintay nating lahat di ba, kapag may pinaghirapan ka?" she said.

"So 'yon.

"Thelma," a film based on the lives of Filipino runners, was shown in theaters nationwide last September.

'My Binondo Girl'

Meanwhile, Salvador said she is thrilled to be working with her friend Kim Chiu in the latter's television series, "My Binondo Girl."

Kasi 'yung alam mo, 'yung nakakasama ko 'yung kaibigan ko," she said.

Salvador also denied any sort of competition between her and Chiu.

"Wala, walang issue sa amin. 'Yung mga comparison di namin pinapansin kasi nagtratrabaho kami eh. Nandoon kami as Jade and Amber, hindi si Maja and Kim ang nag-aaway sa totoong buhay," she said.
