MANILA, Philippines – Movie producer Mother Lily Monteverde has pulled out her official entry in the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

During the launch of the Red Cross Million Volunteer Run on Thursday, Monteverde officially announced that she withdrew the film “Hototay” from this year’s MMFF.

Monteverde said she had to withdraw the movie due to the health condition of her film’s supposed lead actress, Superstar Nora Aunor.

Aunor was recently diagnosed with pneumonia.

Monteverde added that she doesn’t want to sacrifice the quality of the film, considering that this would have been Aunor’s comeback movie.

Earlier, Robin Padilla also announced his withdrawal from the 2011 MMFF.

Padilla opted to pull out his movie entry, “Mr. Wong,” to give way to  ER Ejercito’s film “Manila Kingpin: The Untold Story of Asiong Salonga.”
