MANILA, Philippines - Hard-hitting and award-winning broadcast journalist Anthony Taberna vowed to scrutinize those who plan to run in next year's elections in Studio 23’s newest offering, “Mano Mano ni Anthony Taberna," which premieres on Sunday, October 21, at 9:30 p.m. on Studio 23.

Taberna said his ultimate question for the candidates who will guest in his show is their real intentions for running.

"Kapag sinabi nila 'yung motherhood (statement) na gustong maglingkod at gustong makatulong, eh sawang sawa na tayo doon," he said.

Apart from Taberna, guests will have to be ready to answer questions from the public in the segment called “Miron Akong Tanong.”

The show will also allow viewers to know more about the guests' personal lives, likes and interests via the segment "Ang Hilig Mo.” Guests will be asked to reveal their secrets via the segment “Face-buking.”

Another segment “Ang-gulo Mo!” aims to give the story behind some of their controversial or funny photos.

For the show's pilot episode, Manila Vice-Mayor Isko Moreno, who will run for re-election in 2013, will take the hot seat.

Scheduled to appear in upcoming episodes are Jolo Revilla and Jay Lacson, rivals in the vice-governatorial seat in Cavite, as well as incumbent Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim.

Magaling pala itong dalawang batang ito, parehong nagagalingan ako at baka sila 'yung umpisa nitong interesting season ng 'Mano Mano,'" the broadcaster said.

Aside from politics, Taberna will even discuss the candidates' love life. In the case of Revilla, Taberna was able to asked the young politician about his rumored relationship with Jodi Sta. Maria.

Maria) ngayon," he said.

Asked if it's safe to say that Revilla's confirmation about his relationship with Sta. Maria will be aired exclusively on 'Mano Mano,' Taberna replied: "Oo, parang ganoon."

Aside from "Mano Mano," Taberna is also one of the anchors of ABS-CBN’s investigative program “XXX” where he broke some of the biggest news stories in the country such as the exclusive expose that captured on video former Batangas Governor Antonio Leviste going in and out of his prison cell in New Bilibid.

His expose on an abused grandmother who was detained by her own family inside a dog cage and suffered maltreatment sparked outrage among many Filipino viewers.

Taberna is also known for his exclusive news stories. One of his remarkable exclusive interviews was with former Maguindanao election supervisor Lintang Bedol, who exposed how former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo cheated in the elections.

In 2011, Anthony was awarded Outstanding Crime/Investigative Program Host for "XXX" by the Golden Screen Awards for TV and the Best Male Newscaster by the PMPC Star Awards for Television.

Taberna also co-anchors DZMM's "Dos Por Dos" and handles the segment "Punto Por Punto" on “Umagang kay Ganda.” He is also the main man of Studio 23's primetime newscast "Iba-balita ni Anthony Taberna" on weeknights and co-anchors the program "Ako ang Simula" on ABS-CBN once a week.

“Mano Mano ni Anthony Taberna” will premiere this Sunday, October 21, at 9:30 p.m. on Studio 23 with replays every Monday at 7 a.m.
