MANILA -- JM de Guzman has been out of the limelight for sometime, and he did it for a reason.
The "That Thing Called Tadhana" actor on Sunday shared on Instagram a photo of his sobriety certificate from Self Enhancement for Life Foundation, a non-stock, non-government organization dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals suffering from substance abuse.
According to the certificate, de Guzman has been leading a substance-free lifestyle for a year.
"2 years this December 2017," he wrote as caption.
Words of encouragement flooded the comments section. Even his fellow "That Thing Called Tadhana" star Angelica Panganiban commented on the post.
“Nakaka-miss ka, Anthony,” Panganiban wrote, referring to de Guzman's character on the hit "hugot" movie.
De Guzman was last seen on TV in the 2015 afternoon series "All of Me."
