MANILA, Philippines -- After his impressive knockout win against Japan’s Toshiaki Nishioka last Sunday, there's no question that Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire is the heir apparent to Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao.

Like Pacquiao, Donaire has ruled the super bantamweight division and has now turned to acting as an alternate career.

Donaire premiered his Visayan film "Pala ta ang Nagbuot" in the US.

"We actually finished the movie in six and a half days... It was chopsuey, it's mixed with everything, family, drama, action lahat na. Iba-iba ang style. It was fun and difficult at the same time. I'll definitely do it (acting) again,” The Filipino Flash said.

But if there's one thing that separates Donaire from Pacquiao, it’s politics.

Donaire said, unlike his idol, he has no plans of throwing his hat in the political arena.

"Wala akong plano in terms of politics. Ang maitutulong ko sa bansa natin is through inspiration and fund-raisers, mga foundation na matulungan ko or anything like that," he said. -- ANC
