Cast gears up for final week on air
MANILA, Philippines -- The P3-million onscreen wedding of Coco Martin and Julia Montes on Monday (October 15) captivated Filipino viewers nationwide, as "Walang Hanggan" scored almost triple its competing show's audience share.
The "phenomenal" union of Daniel (Martin) and Katerina (Montes) drew in 38.8% audience share nationwide, according to the latest TV ratings data of Kantar Media. Its rival show on GMA-7, meanwhile, only garnered 12.9% ratings.
Viewers of "Walang Hanggan" also took to micro-blogging site Twitter, where the show quickly became a local trending topic. People shared their excitement and reactions on the Monday episode.
The much-anticipated exchanging of vows between Katerina and Daniel was shot inside the San Agustin Church in Intramuros, with most of the characters in the series present.
Setting the grand tone of the wedding was the live orchestral music by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestara as conducted by acclaimed musical director Gerard Salonga.
Off-screen, the festivities surrounding "Walang Hanggan" were no less grand.
On October 20, in anticipation of the show's final episode, Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta, who portray "eternal lovers" Marco and Emily, will hold a grand fans' day with Davaoeños at the open parking lot of Abreeza Mall.
The next day, the entire cast of "Walang Hanggan" will take to the Smart Araneta Coliseum to thank its loyal viewers for the phenomenal success of the series, which would occassionally breach the 40% mark in audience share nationwide.
Joining the cast in "Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat" on October 21 are Kris Aquino, Gary Valenciano, Vice Ganda, Boy Abunda, Toni Gonzaga, Richard Yap, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, Juris, Aiza Seguerra, Bryan Termulo, Bugoy Drilon, Liezel Garcia, and the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra with Salonga.
