2 new Kapamilya series to be launched on 'ASAP'
MANILA, Philippines -- Two new highly-anticipated series of the Kapamilya network will be launched on concert variety program "ASAP 2012."
Marking their 10th anniversary as a "love team," John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo will come together on the "ASAP" stage to launch their joint return to primetime via the romance-drama series "A Beautiful Affair."
The prized Kapamilya tandem will perform alongside the cast of the soap, which includes actor John Estrada, Cruz's new onscreen rival.
Billed as the "long-awaited return of the love team that defined a generation," the Lauren Dyogi-directed soap is Alonzo and Cruz's first TV project together in four years.
Also directed by Katski Flores, "A Beautiful Affair" is expected for primetime telecast later this year.
Also set to perform on "ASAP 2012" on Sunday are Matteo Guidicelli and Jessy Mendiola for the grand launch of "Paraiso," the latest entry to the "Precious Hearts Romances" series.
"Paraiso" tells the story of Brennan (Guidicelli), a married businessman who gets stranded on an island with a perfect stranger, Yani (Mendiola), after getting shipwrecked.
Romance blooms between Yani and Brennan on the island, setting off a series of twists and conflicts among its principal characters.
Formerly titled "Isla," "Paraiso" also stars actor Matt Evans, who plays Justin, Yani's best friend; and actress Jewel Mische, who portrays Megan, Brennan's dedicated wife.
Directed by Nico Hernandez and Connie Macatuno, "Paraiso" is expected to have an afternoon telecast later this year.
