MANILA, Philippines - Actress Angelica Panganiban is not pregnant, her actor-boyfriend clarified Tuesday night.
"She's not pregnant. I don't think she's doing well because right now she has her dysmenorrhea (difficult menstruation). Sorry babe, but I was taking care of her last night. She has very bad dysmenorrhea and she gets that every month and I'm the one who takes care of her," Ramsay said during the launching of his latest endorsement, Belo Men.
The event was also attended by Matteo Guidicelli and “Juanita Banana’s” lead star Bianca Manalo. Actress Gretchen Barretto surprisingly showed up to show support for her “Magkaribal” co-actor.
If the rumors are true, Ramsay assured that he will share the good news with everyone. "We will let you know if she is. There's no reason to be alarmed."
Ramsay said all is well with him and Panganiban. He said he plans to settle down in the near future and have kids with her.
This was not the first time that Panganiban was rumored to be pregnant.
Back in 2007, reports surfaced that she was already an expectant mom. The reports said Panganiban was throwing up and feeling dizzy on the set of a television show.
Meanwhile, Ramsay reacted to the recent rift between Claudine Barretto and Panganiban.
Ramsay said the decision of both parties to keep quiet was a good move.
"I think it's better that they're quiet. I think they should. Hindi kasi masarap na may kaaway ka, hindi ba? The truth will come out and I think one day may pinagsamahan ang dalawa. That's why it's even more intense," he said.
Ramsay also hopes that Panganiban and Barretto, who used to be close friends, will kiss and make up.
"Most definitely. I think it will fix, sana," Ramsay added.
He also clarified that the issue did not affect his friendship with Raymart Santiago, Barretto’s husband, and best friend Martin Castro.
Barretto accused Panganiban of spreading a rumor that she was having an extramarital affair with Castro.
Panganiban never addressed the issue personally, but her lawyer branded Barretto’s accusation as baseless.
Castro was spotted in the event, but he declined to be interviewed by the media. He said he was there for Ramsay.
"Martin is my very, very good friend and he is here to support me. Kung kami ay nagkagalit sa isa't isa, no. We remain friends and our friendship is intact and I think it will remain that way," Ramsay said.
Ramsay said what happened between Panganiban and Barretto was just a “big misunderstanding.”
"I think both parties think that way. I don't really want to talk much about it because I don't know all the facts about it. But you know, for me, I think it's a big misunderstanding and sana nga it's all over. And if anyone got effected, Martin is good, his wife is good, everything is just normal right now," Ramsay said.
Ramsay is part of popular television series "Magkaribal." According to Ramsay, "Magkaribal" might be extended again.
"I don't know how long, but definitely we are going to be extended," he said.
The show is expected to air its final episode on October 23. –With a report from Gretchen Fullido, ABS-CBN News
