MANILA, Philippines -- ABS-CBN's newest drama series "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" debuted strongly against competing programs on Monday, according to nationwide TV ratings data.
According to the latest TV ratings data of Kantar Media, "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" garnered a 25.8% nationwide audience share on Monday, October 8, when it first aired during the Kapamilya network's Primetime Bida block.
The Monday ratings feat of "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" is over 10 percentage-points higher than its competition's, according to Kantar Media. The GMA-7 series "Luna Blanca," which started airing in May, only posted 15.1% nationwide audience share.
Kim Chiu's return to primetime drama did even better versus the first episode of its rival show in GMA, "Coffee Prince" which only got 13.1%.
Still engaged in a tug of war over the top spot are the Kapamilya series "Walang Hanggan" (34.6%) and "Princess and I" (32.5%), which air back-to-back. ABS-CBN's flagship newscast "TV Patrol," meanwhile, continues to be the No. 1 newscast in the country, as it posted 30% nationwide audience share on Monday.
Directed by Don Cuaresma and Jojo Saguin, "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" tells the story of three generations of rivalry. Also starring Maja Salvador, Janice de Belen, Pilar Pilapil, Ronaldo Valdez, Eddie Gutierrez, Ariel Rivera, Cherry Pie Picache, Xian Lim and Enchong Dee, the drama series airs weeknights after "Walang Hanggan."
