MANILA, Philippines -- After scoring a lead role in the acclaimed Pan-Asian series "The Kitchen Musical," Karylle's next TV outing will again get international airtime. This "blessing," according to her mom, is well-deserved for the "hardworking" noontime show host.
"[She's] blessed. She's so hardworking. She's such a hardworking girl. She deserves all the opportunities and the offers coming her way. She deserves it because she works so hard," Karylle's mother, singer Zsa Zsa Padilla, told reporters.
For her next international break, Karylle will make a guest appearance in the Singaporean action-drama series "Point of Entry."
Launched in 2010, "Point of Entry" is said to a top-rating series in Singapore.
According to the official website of MediaCorp, the network that airs the series, "Point of Entry" is a 1-hour action drama about an elite team of ICA special agents, and their fight to keep Singapore's borders safe from smuggling and illegal immigration by land, sea and air.
Speaking on her daughter's role in "Kitchen Musical," where Karylle portrays Maddie, Padilla said: "Hopefully matuloy 'yung susunod na season, I can't wait for that."
For her role in the series, Karylle was nominated for Best Actress in the 52nd Monte Carlo TV Festival. "The Kitchen Musical" also won a bronze medal for best performance for the entire cast at the 2012 New York Festival.
Currently, Karylle is also a regular co-host of ABS-CBN's noontime variety program "It's Showtime" and performs on occasion on the concert variety show "ASAP 2012."
