MANILA -- Comedian Michael V. has joined a growing list of GMA 7 stars who are now doing shows on the No. 3 network TV5.
In a report published on the Philippine Star, a photo showed comedian-singer Ogie Alcasid, who recently moved from GMA 7 to TV5, introducing his friend, comedian Michael V, as the host of an upcoming show on the Manny Pangilinan-backed network.
The photo was taken during a launch party for TV5.
The report said Michael V will be hosting the upcoming show "Killer Karaoke."
It wasn't clear from the report if the show is a localized version of the American game show, "Killer Karaoke," which features contestants attempting to sing while various attempts are made to disrupt their performances.
Michael V. and Alcasid worked for many years in GMA 7's gag show "Bubble Gang."
Alcasid's move to TV5 prompted speculations that Michael V will follow suit. But the "Bubble Gang" mainstay had already denied that he is leaving GMA 7, his home network for 18 years, although he previously announced that he was going to do a game show for TV5.
In a report on the GMA 7 website last August, Michael V was quoted as saying, “Hindi naman tuldok kaagad ‘yon, na aalis kaagad ako.”
He also noted that other stars who are connected to GMA 7 also have shows on the No. 3 star, citing "Eat Bulaga" hosts Joey de Leon and Vic Sotto.
