Rihanna’s father has “no problem” with her getting back with singer Chris Brown.
The 24-year-old singer’s dad Ronald Fenty approves of his daughter's reconciliation with her ex-boyfriend -- who was arrested for violently assaulting her in 2009 -- and thinks the pair will make each other happy now Brown has split from model Karreuche Tran.
He told In Touch Weekly magazine: "I know they love each other. They always have. She's happiest when she's around him, and as long as she's happy, I am happy and the whole world should be too."
The “Diamonds” singer has reportedly reunited with her former flame and was spotted kissing him at New York nightspot Griffin on October 1 before enjoying an intimate date at a Jay-Z gig just hours before the R&B star officially announced his break-up with Tran.
Rihanna's dad has given the couple his blessing despite Brown’s past mistakes and insists the star deserves a second chance because he is a respectful and charismatic person that he has a lot of "love" for.
Fenty enthused: "I think everyone makes mistakes and they shouldn't be held to them forever. Everyone should be forgiven once. There's a lot more to Chris than the whole world knows."
"I love Chris, man. He's got so much charisma. And he's always had so much respect for me. That's what I love about him. He's always shown me respect."
The superstar's father also praised Brown’s many talents, gushing about his "super-talented" singing and dancing as well as his design skills.
Second time around
Brown is determined to make a success of his relationship with Rihanna the second time around.
The “Yeah 3x” hitmaker recently split from girlfriend Tran because he couldn’t give up his “friendship” with his ex Rihanna and friends of Brown say he wants to put things right with the ‘We Found Love’ singer.
A pal told HollywoodLife.com: “He’s doing s**t right this time and is going to really try to make this s**t work with Rihanna. They got caught up a few times, being drunk and doing some backwards…s**t in the club but, come on, they [are] young and in love.
“People be getting it twisted, thinking my boy a dog. He ain’t. Not at all.”
Brown recently posted a candid video he has named 'The Real Chris Brown' onto the Internet and in it the musician is seen discussing his romantic dilemma over the two women.
He says in the video: "I'm stressed out ... when you share history with somebody, then you tend to fall in love with somebody else, it's kinda difficult.
"Is there such thing as loving two people? I don't know if that's possible, but for me, I feel like that."
Oprah gives blessing
Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey has given Rihanna's reunion with Brown her blessing.
The chat show queen -- who recently interviewed Rihanna on her show “Oprah's Next Chapter” about her relationship with the R&B singer -- praised the pop princess for being able to forgive him.
She told entertainment series “Extra”: “You know what I loved about that interview is that she came with a big, wide open heart. She was in the space of forgiveness. And that she learned a lesson, that she was repeating with Chris Brown exactly what she needed to learn from her father."
During their interview in August, Rihanna spoke about her memories of her father being physically abusive to her mother and how she learnt to forgive him.
Winfrey said she does not think less of the pop star for reuniting with Brown.
She said: "I think that if she is prepared to deal with that and is prepared to help him help himself then so be it. I have no judgement whatsoever. If that's how you choose to lead your life, that's really okay."
Brown broke up with Tran to give his relationship with Rihanna another chance.
He said: "I have decided to be single to focus on my career. I love Karrueche very much but I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna.
"I'd rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives."
The “Don't Wake Me Up” hitmaker dated Tran since late 2011, but constant reports of his secret rendezvous with Rihanna were a source of contention in their relationship. – Bang Showbiz
