MANILA, Philippines – Actor-host Luis Manzano is going to great lengths to urge an ice cream brand to make him its official endorser.

On micro-blogging site Twitter, the "Pilipinas Got Talent" host launched a campaign to ask his followers -- numbering over 1.7 million as of writing -- to make the hashtag "#luisforcornetto" a trending topic on the social networking site.

The actor also linked to videos uploaded on the video-sharing site YouTube showing him doing a mock endorsement of the brand's product. In the videos, Manzano is seen being "showered" with print-outs of the "Cornetto" label, before the same hashtag is displayed onscreen.

Cornetto is a frozen ice cream cone that is sold and distributed locally by Selecta.

The branded food product is known for its series "P20" television advertisements, which feature situations where paying P20 for a way more expensive service or product can lead to comedic outcomes.

Mentioning the official Twitter account of the ice cream brand in his "tweets," Manzano asked which video "applications" of his were more favorable.

He also enlisted the help of his current girlfriend, actress Jennylyn Mercado, to spread awareness on his "campaign." "Ipaglaban natin! Tulungan niyo ako," he said on Twitter.

As of writing, the hashtag "#luisforcornetto" has yet to take a spot in the top local trending topics on the micro-blogging site.
