MANILA, Philippines – After taking time out from her leading lady duties onscreen, prized Star Magic talent Kristine Hermosa is setting her sights on a TV comeback that is both "light" and "inspirational."
Last seen in the fantasy series "Noah" (2010), where she portrayed Diwatang Eva, Hermosa has been on hiatus from show business since getting married to actor Oyo Boy Sotto in January 2011.
In December that same year, Hermosa gave birth to a baby girl, Ondrea Bliss, which would spell a prolonged absence from the limelight. And the "Pangako Sa'Yo" star said she couldn't be happier.
"I cannot say enough how grateful and enjoyable I feel being a wife and a mom -- it's incomparable! It feels so different now," Hermosa was quoted as saying in the 2013 edition of ABS-CBN Publishing's Star Magic Catalogue, released this month.
After more than a year of break from the industry, however, Hermosa seems ready to take on leading lady roles anew, but not just any role.
"You feel different pag may nagawa kang project and sobrang nagustuhan ng mga tao. Achievenment 'yun talaga. It's so fulfilling," said Hermosa, whose debut soap, the internationally-aired "Pangako Sa'yo," marked her rise to stardom.
"But now, I want to do something that's light yet inspiring," she added.
A Star Magic talent for 17 years now, Hermosa remains among the most prized artists of ABS-CBN's talent management arm.
