I beg to disagree kugn sino man ang nagpasimuno ng text messages na ikinakalat tungkol umano sa mabagal na response o distribution ng relief goods. Why? Simply because I am a living witness of the concerted effort given by ABS CBN in reaching out to the victims of Typhoon Ondoy specifically in Marikina.My mother-in-law is a church worker at the Immaculate Conception Parish-lcoated at Concepcion, Marikina City. Last Septmber 25, 2009 the day after the onslaught of Typhoon Ondoy, she came home to inform us that over 2,000 families are housed doon mismo sa Church(kaya walang mass the whole of Sunday). All came from nearby Tumana. We gathered whatever resources we had para mabigyan ang mga evacuees ng pansamantalang pantawid gutom because according to her the Priest was pleading for assistance dahil gutom na gutom ang mga evacuees. When we realized that what we gave was not enough to alleviate their plight namroblema kami. Fortunately nung narestore agad ang electricity sa amin we were able to stay glued to Channel 2 watching the Sagip Kapamilya telethon. tHE PROGRAM GAVE US AN IDEA NA HINDI MAN KAMI MAKATULONG NG LUBUSAN because of lack of resources, I know that we can rely on ABS-CBN to do that for us. I dialed the hotline number until I was able to get a connection. There sinabi ko ang plight ng mga evacuees na nangangailangan ng food at iba pang necessities na nasa ICP Church. True to their word, that night when we again brought a few goods to them, a Church worker from another organization informed my mother-in-law that relief goods from ABS-CBN have just been delivered for distribution. I also remember na nung nagkailaw na, the first telethon and call for assistance came from the stars of ABS-CBN led by Ms. Kris Aquino, MS. Tina Monzon-Palma and company. When we tried to check with the other channels puro regular programs ang pinapalabasnila. I guess that in itself is enough for us to be grateful because ABS initiated it all. I am from Marikina and everytime we go home may nakakasalubiong kaming truck na may dalang relief goods from ABS. Kudos people! Walang nakaattach na malaking streamer para magpakilalang ABS CBN ung truck. May maliit lang na sticker na nakalagay relief goods from ABS CBN.
To you out there who is the promotor of the text messages-ikaw ba may nagaw ka na? Kung talagang isa kayo sa tumulong sa pag pack ng relief goods dapat ikaw ang unang nakakaalam kung gaano kahirap pumasok sa mga nasalanta nung time na yun or kung gaano kahirap manawagan sa mga may trucks or vans na tutulong sa pagdistribute ng relief goods. Dapat alam mo to kasi kami sunday pa lang alam na namin that ABS CBN was calling for assistance in whatever form including yung mga vehicles na gagamitin sa pag deliver ng relief goods. That is if andoon ka talaga? Kaya I believe you do not have the right to pass on a text message na walang solid basis.

MANILA - Sumagot ang ABS-CBN sa mga mapanirang text message na kumakalat ngayon na sinasabing mabagal umano ang distribusyon nito ng mga relief goods sa mga nasalanta ng bagyo, hindi ito nakikipag-coordinate sa gobyerno, at dagdag exposure ang habol ng mga Kapamilya artista sa pagsama nila sa mga programa ng Sagip Kapamilya.
