Starring Robin Padilla, Pokwang, Angel Locsin and Vhong Navarro, the ABS-CBN sitcom was recognized by the CMMA as the Best Comedy Program at the awarding ceremony held Tuesday night.
"Masayang-masaya kaming lahat. Sa kabila ng kami'y napapagod sa aming taping, kami'y nakakapagbigay ng saya," Pokwang told reporters shortly after the program.
"Syempre magwa-one year pa lang kami 'no, pero ito na, may mga blessings na agad," she added.
Billed as an action-comedy series, "Toda Max" premiered in November 2011. It tells the story of Bartolome (Padilla), whose wife's death prompted him and his children to start life anew in Manila where he meets Justin (Navarro), Lady G (Pokwang) and Isabel (Locsin).
According to Padilla, the "moral values" imparted through the show's story earned "Toda Max" its first award from the CMMA.
"Syempre and 'Toda Max,' nabuo 'yan dahil sa moral values.
During the awards night on Tuesday, the principal cast of the sitcom was in complete attendance.
"Toda Max" was not the only Kapamilya program that went home with a trophy. ABS-CBN reaped a majority of the major awards given at the 34th CMMA on Tuesday night.
