MANILA, Philippines -- Two years since controversy erupted over his sex scandal videos, former doctor Hayden Kho is now ready to face the "victims" of the recorded sexual encounters that went public.
"I think so. Yes, yes, yes. I'm very ready," Kho told reporters on Friday during his contract-signing as a talent of Growl Entertainment, a sister company of Regal Films.
Kho was answering a question on the possibility of co-starring with Halili or Reyes in a possible showbiz project.
"Hindi ko lang alam kung sila ready," he added, referring to actresses Katrina Halili and Maricar Reyes, who were seen in the sex videos which circulated online and in pirated DVDs two years ago.
Even before he announced plans of resuming his career onscreen, Kho said he had made efforts to communicate with the women involved in the publicized videos.
"Kahit naman before, nag-try naman ako mag-reach out. Hindi ko na pinaalam sa mga tao 'di ba. Pero nag-try naman ako mag-reach out sa mga taong 'yun. 'Yung iba nakausap ko, 'yung iba nagka-ayos kami, so I think okay na," he said.
"Isang bagay naman kasi sa 'kin, mabilis akong makalimot, I really have poor recall," he added.
In 2009, Kho became the subject of criticism after "more or less 11" videos of him having sexual intercourse with different women, a number of them allegedly recorded without the consent of those involved, surfaced online.
Following the incident, Kho faced criminal charges for violation of provisions of Republic Act No. 9262, which were dismissed and subsequently affirmed.
However, his medical license was revoked in the wake of the controversy.
"Kung tingin ni Lord kailangan ko 'yun para ma-fulfill ko 'yung purpose ko as a person, mababalik niya naman sa 'kin 'yun eh, wala namang dahilan para hindi niya gawin," Kho said, referring to his medical license.
"Pero kung hindi ko kailangan para magawa ko 'yung purpose ko, hindi ko rin siya hahanapin," he said.
Having overcome the controversial incident, Kho is intent on moving forward as an actor with "God as a foundation."
For his big screen comeback, Kho is set to topbill in the upcoming movie "The Bride and the Lover," alongside actor Paulo Avelino, and actresses Jennylyn Mercado and Lovi Poe.
On his return to showbiz after having surpassed personal challenges, Kho said: "Ready na ako hindi lang in terms of skill and knowledge about showbiz and acting, but also 'yung character-wise, ready na rin ako, going through things I went through before, I think na-polish talaga, na-iron na lahat ng flaws sa character, and I think that's important."
