MANILA, Philippines - Just three days since she debuted on Twitter, South Korean pop star Sandara Park has been using the microblogging site to reconnect with Filipinos.
Park, who is using the username "krungy21," has been reaching out to her Filipino celebrity friends, saying that she hopes to return to the country soon.
She told actresses Nikki Valdez and Rica Peralejo: "Mga ati!!! Naalala nyo baby krung nyo? Sandara here! Miss u ~ ingat kayo!"
To actress Heart Evangelista, she said: "Heart!!! How r u? Sandara here ~ follow me."
Park also communicated with comedienne Pokwang via Twitter, saying: "Kakamiss talaga ang Phil (Philippines)."
Television host and actor Luis Manzano, meanwhile, got a surprise request from the South Korean pop star, who admitted that she is feeling homesick.
"D ko alam kelan ako babalik dyan.. Sobrang nahohomesick ako!!! Puntahan mo ako sa korea ~ bring sinigang na hipon for me!" she said.
To which Manzano responded: "Bayaran mo ticket ko? Ang casual mo humingi ng sinigang na hipon! Ano yun ilalagay ko sa bulsa ko?"
Sinigang is a popular Filipino dish containing meat or seafood simmering in a sour broth.
Park's Twitter handle is based on the term "krung krung," which has been used to describe her unpredictable personality during her Philippine showbiz stay.
In 2004, she finished first runner-up in the reality talent search "Star Circle Quest," earning her a contract with ABS-CBN. Park went on to star in a number of TV and film projects, and eventually became a recording artist.
In 2007, she left for South Korea to pursue a showbiz career there. She is now known as Dara, one of the four members of the popular girl group 2NE1.
