MANILA, Philippines – All three guests of Thursday’s episode of “Kris TV” said they are against the idea of “living in” before getting married.
Hayden Kho, who denied living in with former flame Vicki Belo, said he still believes in marriage.
His planned wedding to the celebrity doctor was put off amid allegations that he was seeing another woman.
“I don’t believe in living in. I really believe in marriage. I think ‘pag live in is more of a matter of convenience, and marriage is a matter of commitment,” said Kho, whose license as a doctor was revoked in connection with a sex video scandal in 2009.
Actress and beauty queen Bianca Manalo, on the other hand, said she would rather wait and “be surprised” by married life rather than testing it through cohabiting with a partner.
Iba ‘yun [sa mag-asawa],” added the 25-year-old actress, who recently broke up with actor-dancer John Prats.
While it is a common practice in his province of Camarines Sur because of financial problems, Miguel Villafuerte said he would rather not live with a woman before tying the knot.
The son of Camarines Sur governor LRay Villafuerte was previously linked to Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.
“Sa buong paglibot ko sa CamSur, marami talagang hindi kasal, na live-in dahil financial problem po talaga. That’s why we host mass weddings para maayos ‘yung problema na ‘yun,” said Villafuerte, who came from a long-distance relationship.
“Pero ako, personally, I won’t do that. I won’t do that with someone. I think it’s immoral,” he added.
The three celebrities’ statements came as no surprise as they all live in the Philippines, a predominantly Catholic country.
Meanwhile, Kho, Manalo and Villafuerte said it may take some time before they settle down as they have yet to find their match.
