Park finally joined the popular social networking site on Monday, opting for a username that rings familiar to her Filipino fans -- "krungy21."
The actress-singer's Twitter handle is based on the term "krung krung," which was used to describe her unpredictable personality -- often aloof, sometimes upbeat -- during her Philippine showbiz stay.
Despite being based in South Korea since 2007, Park has been vocal of her appreciation for her Filipino fans.
On Twitter, she describes herself as the "Pambansang krungkrung ng Pilipinas," and has even "mentioned" her former film co-stars in the Philippines, actor-host Luis Manzano and comedienne Pokwang.
Park's Filipino connection goes a long way back.
In 2004, she finished runner-up in the reality talent search "Star Circle Request," earning her a contract with ABS-CBN's talent management firm Star Magic as one of its talents.
Following her stint on "SCQ," Park went on to star in a number of TV and film projects, including "Bcuz Of U" (2004) and "D' Lucky Ones" (2006).
For a time, she was also a recording artist in the Philippines, with singles such as "Walang Sabit" and "Ang Ganda Ko."
In 2007, however, Park decided to leave for South Korea, her birthplace, to pursue a showbiz career there.
Now she is known as "Dara," one of the four members of the popular girl group 2NE1.
