With hundreds already lined up, James Reid's signing event was abruptly cancelled over security concerns as his fans began to frantically make their way to the stage where he was to sit down just to get a glimpse of the "On the Wings of Love" actor.
Minutes after Reid made his appearance at the Manila International Book Fair, held at the packed SMX Convention Center in Pasay City this Saturday, an announcer suddenly pronounced the event over.
It prompted an apology from Reid himself on Twitter, who expressed his concern for his fans. "Sorry for what happened at the MIBF. It was totally unorganised. I hope no one got hurt."
National Bookstore, the organizer of the event, also made a public apology on social media.
Reid was supposed to sign copies of his book "Team Real," and the re-imagined version of "Pedro Penduko," for those who arrived early and was lucky enough to secure numbered tickets.
