MANILA, Philippines - Pinoy Big Brother Double Up’s Jason Francisco categorically denied rumors that he cheated on on-screen partner—and real-life girlfriend—Melisa “Melai” Cantiveros during a recent trip to Cebu.
Francisco, who is part of the cast of the upcoming series “Kokey @ Ako,” made the denial during an exclusive interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com after the press conference of the new show. He was reacting to rumors spread through the Internet and an open letter circulated via Twitter accusing him of having an affair with a girl in Cebu.
Talk going around even claims that the BlackBerry mobile phone Francisco is currently using is a gift from the girl.
A fan posted the open letter on Twitter. It talked about an angry confrontation that supposedly took place in Laguna.
The item became a source of concern for fans of the tandem and especially, for Francisco himself.
According to Francisco, what happened was that he was invited by fellow housemate Paul Jake Castillo to Cebu for a fun run. When he returned to Manila several days later, he heard that Cantiveros was upset with him.
He admitted that Cantiveros—who he says tends to be selosa—felt bad upon hearing the rumors. So he appealed to the fans of their tandem, as well as Melai’s and his individual fan groups to exercise caution when there are such rumors.
Alam n’yo naman ang showbiz,” he said.
Contrary to rumors that they have broken up, Francisco said that he and Cantiveros are okay, but haven’t spent a lot of time together because they are both very busy, especially Cantiveros. Aside from “Kokey @ Ako,” they also have weekly tapings of “Banana Split.” On her own, Cantiveros is also busy working on Inday Bote.
Last September 8, they celebrated their 7th month together as a couple. During the “[email protected] Ako” presscon, the two were seated next to each other and appeared to be friendly and cordial toward each other, even when they were being interviewed separately.
Francisco adds that as far as he is concerned, things between him and Cantiveros remain the same.
They are still very much together, Francisco says, and hopes things will stay that way.
