How 'Pinoy Boyband Superstar' debut fared in ratings

MANILA -- ABS-CBN's newest talent-reality show "Pinoy Boyband Superstar" was an immediate hit among viewers, based on the ratings performance of its first two episodes on September 10 and 11. 

According to the data from Kantar Media, the show had a national TV rating of 34.4% on September 10, while its rival program “Pepito Manaloto” only got 21.4%.

Its September 11 episode was an even bigger hit with ratings of 36.4% -- or 18 percentage points higher than the 17.9% of its counterpart “Ismol Family.”

Ahead of its debut, "Pinoy Boyband Superstar" received a lot of buzz as it marked the homecoming of two of the network's talents -- Korean pop star Sandara Park and heartthrob Aga Muhlach.

Park and Muhlach serve as the show's judges alongside comedian Vice Ganda and singer Yeng Contantino. 

Hosted by Billy Crawford, "Pinoy Boyband Superstar" airs on Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Goin' Bulilit."
