MANILA, Philippines -- They may no longer be in a relationship, but Derek Ramsay and Angelica Panganiban are not necessarily estranged.

"We don't communicate as much, but there's still communication there," Ramsay said, when asked if he is still in contact with Panganiban four months since he confirmed their breakup.
"The mom texted me the other day; I replied. So there's no bad blood," added Ramsay, who is currently filming his reunion project with actress Anne Curtis, now officially titled "A Secret Affair."
Six years of his life spent in a relationship with Panganiban, Ramsay said, cannot easily be "replaced."
"I don't want to be loving someone one day, and the next day forget all about that and you hate them. That's not true. There's no hate," he said.
"You never replace. We had six years, tumatak na 'yan sa puso ko. It's there, it's tucked away. But you never replace, you never compare," he added.
Although he recalls fondly his "good times" with Panganiban, who is now romantically linked to actor John Lloyd Cruz, Ramsay said he has already decided to move on.
"I've done my crying, I'm back on my feet, and ready to move forward, and I am moving forward. I'm really happy," Ramsay said.
"Maraming nagpapangiti sa 'kin, family ko, kayo (entertainment press), trabaho ko. I'm very happy, I really am," he added.
For his latest project, his big screen reunion with Curtis, Ramsay hopes to replicate the success of "No Other Woman," the second highest-grossing local film of all time.
Directed by Nuel Naval, "A Secret Affair" will hit theaters on October 24.
