MANILA, Philippines - Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup revealed on Tuesday that she already has a boyfriend.

Supsup made the revelation in an exclusive interview with “Bandila."

When asked by “Bandila” host Julius Babao whether she has a special someone, Supsup replied with a firm “yes.”

“Hindi ako showbiz eh. I want to be honest. I want people to know about it,” she added.

Meanwhile, in line with remarks saying that she should have been crowned as this year’s Miss Universe instead of Angola’s Leila Lopes, Supsup immediately came to her fellow beauty queen’s defense.

She said, “We are not the judges there, and I accepted the fact na I’m third runner-up and I’m already happy. I think we should be happy also for Ms. Angola that she won, and I think that she also deserves the crown.”

Supsup also said that people should learn to accept what has already been decided.

“I think everything’s just part of the plan and para sa akin I’m already happy to be in top 5. I mean, among 89 candidates and then you end up in top 5 that’s a great achievement already,” she said.

“As I always said, ‘In a competition there’s [always] a winner. Someone will lose, someone will win.’ You should just accept things for what they are. I think that’s what makes a winner, not just the crown but being able to accept na hindi ikaw 'yung nanalo.”

As for her answer during the pageant’s question and answer portion, Supsup handed over the credit to her mother Marcey.

When asked how she came up with the answer, she said she thought of her mother’s advice.

She explained, “Before kasi, my mom and I, my mom is really strict and she always told me na ‘yung magiging boyfriend ko or asawa ko should be a Christian first, and that our relationship should be centered with God. Kumbaga, walang kinalaman sa pageant or sa question and answer it was just what she taught me and it just came out naturally.”
