He rose to fame as this homely but funny Pinoy guy who won the heart of a blind woman in "Kita Kita."
And now comedian Empoy Marquez is back with a new movie, topbilling the Dennis Padilla-directed comedy, "The Barker (Don't Know What to Do)."
A short teaser was released on Tuesday by Viva Films, showing Empoy as a guy who falls in love at first sight with a mestiza beauty.
No other details about the flick's plot were revealed, but a release date has been set on October 4.
This will be Marquez's first movie since the wildly successful "Kita Kita," the highest-grossing local indie movie of all time.
The well-received romance, which was shot with a modest P10 million budget, made at least P300 million after three weeks.
A new movie and a Dreamscape-produced series reuniting Marquez with "Kita Kita" co-star Alessandra de Rossi are already in the works.
