MANILA – Ai Ai delas Alas is set to tie the knot with her fiance, Gerald Sibayan, in a few months, and the comedienne made sure that two of her closest celebrity friends are part of her entourage.
Delas Alas shared details of her December 12 church wedding in an interview with the entertainment website Pep published on Sunday.
She said Sharon Cuneta, one of the coaches of the ABS-CBN show “The Voice of the Philippines,” is her matron of honor.
Actress Marian Rivera, on the other hand, is the couple’s veil sponsor. Rivera has offered to pay for Delas Alas’ bridal gown by Frederick Peralta as her wedding gift to the comedienne.
Also part of the entourage is actor Alden Richards, one of Sibayan’s best men. He joins Delas Alas’s son Sancho, and Sibayan’s best friend, Kenneth.
Delas Alas said they have a long list of principal sponsors – known locally as “ninong” and “ninang” – but did not mention their names.
While she has already experienced getting married and divorced, Delas Alas said this will be her first church wedding.
“Excited ako dahil first time ko na ikakasal sa simbahan, at saka parang, kumbaga sa faith ko, wala na akong pagkakamali dahil ikakasal na ako,” she told Pep.
“Wala na rin akong bashers. Tanggap na nila. Siguro na-prove nila na hindi lang etchos-etchos ang relasyon namin ni Gerald.”
Delas Alas married businessman Jed Salang in Las Vegas in 2013, but separated after less than a month amid allegations of physical abuse.
The country’s “Comedy Queen” announced her divorce in January 2014.
