MANILA, Philippines – Genelyn Magsaysay, the mother of slain actor Ramgen Revilla, said she played down the appeal set to be filed by actress Janelle Manahan in connection with the dismissal of charges against her daughter Gail Bautista and Gail’s husband Hiro Furuyama.
Last Friday, Manahan said her camp will file a petition for review with the Office of the Secretary of Justice as soon as they receive a copy of the resolution of the Paranaque City Prosecutors Office junking the murder and frustrated murder charges against Bautista and Furoyama.
In an interview with “The Buzz” aired on Sunday, Magsaysay said their conscience are clear that they did nothing wrong.
“Mag-apela siya. Unang una, wala kaming kinalaman so wala naman kaming dapat talagang patunayan eh. Pero dito, dahil alam naming inosente kami at mapapatunayan na wala talaga kaming kinalaman,” she said.
Magsaysay maintained that her family is just being implicated in a frame up.
Meanwhile, Magsaysay claimed that an unidentified person tried to bribe her family’s legal team.
Pero nung dumating po sila doon, it was not that na nangyari na expected na may death anniversary,” she said.
They were offered of millions para malaman nila ang kaso namin, ilalaglag ang kaso namin,” Magsaysay added.
Manahan, however, denied that she has anything to do with the alleged bribery.
I’m not up for something like that kasi lagi kong sinasabi na sana dito sa kasong ito, sana hindi magamitan ng influence or ng money. So impossible na ako ang gumawa ng bribe na sinasabi niya,” she said.
Despite this, both camps said they will not stop until justice has been served for Revilla.
I know mananagot ang dapat managot,” Magsaysay stated.
