MANILA, Philippines – More than three decades into her showbiz career, actress-host Janice de Belen is everywhere these days, and she couldn't be happier.
"I am everywhere, it's crazy. Really crazy. Crazy schedule. Crazy ako, but it's fun, it's happy crazy," de Belen told ABS-CBN News on the sidelines of the story conference of the latest installment of the big screen horror anthology, "Shake, Rattle & Roll," held Thursday.
Popularly known for her portrayal of "Flordeluna" as a child actress in the 1980s, de Belen successfully made her television comeback via the ABS-CBN drama series "Budoy" in 2011.
Since then, de Belen has appeared in a number of TV shows and films, including the horror film "The Healing" and the independent film "Mga Mumunting Lihim."
On television, she currently hosts a celebrity cooking show and the showbiz-oriented talk show "Showbiz Inside Report." She is also currently filming for the upcoming drama series "Ina, Kapatid, Anak."
Now, in time for the upcoming 38th Metro Manila Film Festival, de Belen will make her seventh appearance in the "Shake, Rattle & Roll" film series via its 14th installment.
"It's really exciting to do it with Herbert (Bautista) and Arlene (Muhlach), kasi lahat kami, kami nag-start nung first 'Shake, Rattle & Roll,' although hindi kami pare-parehas na episodes, pero this time magkakasama kami," de Belen said.
In 1984, de Belen topbilled the "SRR" episode "Pridyider."
At 43, the Kapamilya actress she has only grown to enjoy her craft more than she did when she was still starting in the business.
"Dati, nung bata ako, sinasabi ko nage-enjoy ako. Now that I'm older and I do more things -- iba 'yung output ko nung bata ako, iba rin 'yung output ng trabaho ko now -- now that I'm older, I must say, I really enjoy this job," de Belen said.
"Importante kasi talaga na pag nagsimula ka mag-artista, magtanim ka ng maganda, para kahit na 10 years, 50 years, maganda parin, pag narinig 'yung pangalan mo, maganda 'yung maiisip nila," she added.
