Kris wants Noynoy to undergo hair loss treatment

MANILA - Actress-host Kris Aquino tried to convince her older brother, Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, to undergo a treatment meant to prevent excessive hair loss.

Kris told ABS-CBN News (not "SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon" as earlier reported) that she wants Noynoy to undergo Mesoscalp treatment.

But the senator, who is being urged to run for president in 2010 elections, declined to have the treatment, according to Kris.

"Kinulit ko siya about that. Kasi, if you do that, hindi ba kakapal iyong hair? Ayaw niya," Kris said.

According to the Web site of Belo Medical Clinic, Mesoscalp is a treatment wherein a combination of multivitamins, hormones, and minerals is being injected into the scalp to stimulate hair growth.

The treatment results to a healthier-looking hair and scalp. It is also helpful in cases of falling hair, thinning hair and spot baldness, the Web site added.

Kris said she is now attending to the everyday needs of her brother as part of her promise to their mother, former president Corazon Aquino, who died of colon cancer.

One of her tasks is to protect her brother’s public image. Kris, who is known for her lavish lifestyle, said part of this task is to take care of Noynoy’s outfit and look.

"Si Paul Cabral, iyong mga barong ni ‘Noy, siya ang gumagawa ngayon. Tapos si JC Buendia ang suits at shirts," Kris said.

"Ako, iyon ang sagot ko kasi ako ang maarte sa family. So, kailangan alagaan ko siya in that sense. Tapos iyong salamin nakialam na din ako. Sabi ko parang sa TV not so nice ang glasses niya,” she added.

Kris willing to spend for bro’s wedding

Kris also shared that she is willing to spend for his brother's wedding if ever the senator and girlfriend Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad decide to tie the knot.

The television host initially expressed that she wanted Noynoy to remain single but later retracted the statement.

Nonetheless, Kris’ remark prompted Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson to tell her to lay off her 49-year-old brother’s love life. Lacson said he gave his unsolicited advice to defend Soledad, who is “like a daughter to me.”

Lacson later apologized for commenting “on what seems to be a family affair.” Kris, on the other hand, said she had nothing against Soledad.

Kris added that it was not within her capacity to dictate on her brother. She said people misunderstood her action but she clarified that she did it “out of love.”

"Gusto ko kung saan si ‘Noy happy, kung sino talaga ang magmamahal sa kanya at sino ang mamahalin niya, sino kami para makialam? He always says to me also na nakialam lang daw siya sa aming dalawa ni James (Yap, Kris' husband) noong ang mom ang nakiusap sa kanya.

“Isa daw sa promises niya sa mom was that he would always make sure that my family stays intact,” she said.

If Noynoy decides to get married, she said she will support him “100 percent.”
