Luis, Toni, Alex, Robi back as co-hosts
MANILA - It's official: The Black Eyed Peas' apl.de.ap is returning as the fourth coach of "The Voice of the Philippines."
The Filipino rapper, whose real name is Allan Pineda Lindo, is seen posing with fellow coaches Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo Manalac, and Lea Salonga in a series of photos posted by the ABS-CBN program on social media.
The sneak peek of the pictorial is the first confirmation that apl.de.ap has signed up as a coach in the second season of "The Voice of the Philippines," which is set to premiere later this year.
As in the global format, ABS-CBN's "The Voice Kids" only had three coaches. Geronimo, Manalac, and Salonga returned for that edition, which named 9-year-old Lyca Gairanod of Team Sarah as the winner.
According to Salonga in a tweet last Monday, the new season of "The Voice of the Philippines" is set to shoot its Blind Auditions soon, but did not give an exact date.
In last year's top-rating debut season, Draybers vocalist Mitoy Yonting clinched the title, making Salonga the first winning coach of "The Voice" in the Philippines.
Meanwhile, "The Voice Kids" host Luis Manzano has announced that he will be returning for the second season of "The Voice of the Philippines."
In a tweet on Friday, Manzano said he will co-host the show with Toni Gonzaga, the lone host of season one. Robi Domingo and Alex Gonzaga are likewise returning as "V Reporters."
