MANILA -- Disney has announced on Wednesday the release date for a new short film, starring the core characters from the Oscar-winning mega hit, "Frozen."
Set to be released in 2015, "Frozen Fever" will take place on Anna's birthday and Elsa and Kristoff's attempt to give the younger princess the "best celebration ever."
The short film will be directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and will feature a new song from Oscar winners Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
With over $1.2 billion in worldwide ticket sales, "Frozen" has become a global phenomenon. It was named the highest-grossing animated film of all time, beating out another Disney and Pixar collaboration, "Toy Story 3."
"Frozen" also overtook the total box office earnings of Marvel's "Iron Man 3," to sneak in the top five list of highest grossing films in box office history.
