MANILA, Philippines -- After surviving a near-elimination, the boy band Take Off finally said goodbye to "The X Factor Philippines" on Sunday night.
It was the second time the group found themselves at the bottom two of the hit talent search. During the Final 11, Take Off battled it out with Mark Mabasa, who was eventually eliminated.
Controversial contestant Kedebon Colim, who struggled during the performance night on Saturday, did not even land on the bottom two, with the remaining Over 25 contestant Joan Da making a return to dangerous territory to fight off elimination.
Da made the bottom two on the very first elimination night of "X Factor" although it was Jerianne Templo who went home.
On Sunday, the judges were split between Da and Take Off and eventually the one who garnered the lowest votes from viewers was eliminated.
Netzens storm Twitter
Paolo Valenciano, the son of "X Factor" judge Gary Valenciano, tweeted: "I feel bad for Kedebon. Whatever happens tonight, the whole country will blame him."
Indeed, viewers of the show took to the micro-blogging to blast the results of the ABS-CBN hit competition, with "The X Factor" making it to the top trending topics in the Philippines on Twitter.
"Kedebon is an insult for those who really have the talent that was eliminated. Are you kidding?! Kick him off," tweeted Ian DC Bautista.
"This talent show is going nowhere. Take Off should have stayed and Kedebon should have gone home during the elims," said John Daza.
"Kedebon, please go home!" Johnmark Belormino tweeted emphatically.
"How I wish mag-voluntary exit na lang si Kedebon," Dennis Bernabe said, a reference to "Pinoy Big Brother," where contestants can choose to leave the "PBB" house on their own.
Others also hoped that the rules in "X Factor" included votes to eliminate -- as is done on "PBB."
"BBE KEDEBON. Try ninyo please! Baka gumana," wrote The Beben.
Meanwhile, several conspiracy theories about Colim's resilience on the show have began floating on the Internet.
"What will ABS-CBN do if they learn that GMA indeed invests on helping Kedebon be saved each week?" Edward Jay Quinto said.
