MANILA, Philippines -  DZMM, the country's number one radio station, marks another milestone as it begins showing ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs (NCA) programs on DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable ch. 26) next week.

Starting September 5 (Monday), at 9:15 p.m., DZMM TeleRadyo will air ABS-CBN’s acclaimed current affairs programs “XXX,” “Patrol ng Pilipino,” “Storyline,” “Krusada,” and “SOCO,” weekdays after “Usapang De Campanilla.”

This is the first time in Philippine TV history that a channel in 'teleradyo' format will offer current affairs programs.

ABS-CBN NCA Head Ging Reyes said this is a way to strengthen the network's lineup of current affairs programs, and to allow these to touch more Filipino lives.

"Magtataka siguro kayo kung bakit namin ito ginagawa. Kasi ang mga programang ito ay napapanood na din sa ABS-CBN Channel 2. Ito ay bahagi  ng aming pagpapalakas sa aming Current Affairs Group. Simula noong nakaraang taon ay nagsagawa kami ng paraan... para mabigyan puwersa at mapalakas ang reach ng aming current affairs program. Ilang matagumpay na documentaries ang aming naipalabas and I'm proud to say that those documentaries were produced in-house by our team, our own Current Affairs team," Reyes said during a press conference for the NCA-DZMM TeleRadyo partnership.

"We are multiplatform organization, and ito ay isang hakbang para magamit namin ang mga plataporma para maabot namin ang mas maraming manonood," she added.

She said that while viewers can still watch the programs on their original airing days on Channel 2, the DZMM TeleRadyo airing will offer something special to viewers.

“The Current Affairs programs will have a ‘live’ feel as we will be using the DZMM TeleRadyo interface to make the shows more interactive. While a program is airing, viewers can send their thoughts and comments, which will be displayed on screen,” Reyes explained.

ABS-CBN Manila Radio Division head Peter Musngi said this programming breakthrough is a product of a historic partnership between DZMM and ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs.
“We at DZMM believe in the brilliance and ability of NCA in producing programs that can open the minds of the people on the real condition of our society. Having these current affairs shows in our lineup will mean a lot to our viewers, not only here in the Philippines but in different parts of the world,” he said.
He added: "Malugod naming tinatanggap ang Current Affairs programs sa TeleRadyo. Ito po ay isang pag-iisang dibdib. We are sorry to say na number 1 na po ang DZMM TeleRadyo eh lalo pang lalakas dahil sa mga naggagandahang Current Affairs programs na ipapalabas na sa TeleRadyo simula sa September 5."

Every Monday, TeleRadyo viewers will have the chace  to  watch Anthony Taberna, Pinky Webb, and Julius Babao as they expose anomalies in government as well as abuses and modus operandi victimizing Filipinos in “XXX.”

Come Tuesday, ABS-CBN reporters get to share the stories behind the news as they continue patrolling all over the nation in “Patrol ng Pilipino.”

Every Wednesday, witness the inspiring and eye-opening stories in the New York Festival silver and bronze medalist docu-program “Storyline.”

ABS-CBN’s respected anchors take stand on issues close to their hearts through advocacy journalism in “Krusada” Thursdays.
Finally, join the country’s top crime reporter and anchor Gus Abelgas as he looks back on the investigations on bizarre and high-profile crime cases in “SOCO” Fridays.
