MANILA - Former "Pinoy Big Brother" housemates Daniel Matsunaga and Vickie Rushton, who were romantically linked during their stint in the reality show, were asked to clarify their ties in an episode of "Kris TV" aired on Friday.
Matsunaga, who was named "Big Winner" last Sunday, appeared awkward when host Kris Aquino directly asked Rushton if she ever had romantic feelings for the Brazilian-Japanese model.
Rushton is in a relationship with actor Jason Abalos.
"Friends po kami ni Daniel, siyempre naman," she said. "Natutuwa naman ako sa pinapakita niya sa bahay. Sweet naman siya talaga. Thankful naman ako, naa-appreciate ko 'yung mga ginagawa niya."
The 21-year-old former pageant contestant admitted that she and Abalos are still trying to resolve certain issues, after she opened up about their relationship during her four-month stint in "Pinoy Big Brother."
Both Matsunaga and Rushton have repeatedly denied being attracted to each other, after being teased by their fellow housemates as a potential couple.
Matsunaga has said he understands having to maintain a certain distance from Rushton out of respect to her relationship with Abalos.
In an interview on "Aquino & Abunda Tonight" aired Thursday, Rushton said Abalos still has questions about her ties with Matsunaga and that the actor is hurting from the issues she raised inside the "Pinoy Big Brother" house.
She expressed confidence, however, that they will patch things up.
Asked for her message to Abalos, Rushton said: "Promise na babawi ako. Susubukan ko na maayos 'to, and alam ko, in time, maaayos lahat. I love you."
