MANILA – Jake Zyrus took to social media to reach out to his mother, Raquel Pempengco, after his trending “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode aired on Saturday night.

In a lengthy message on Instagram, Jake Zyrus said he still loves his mother despite everything that happened between them.

Jake Zyrus is also hoping their relationship would be restored eventually.

Someday magiging okay po ang lahat,” he said.

Love conquers all,” he added.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Mrs. Pempengco claimed that the “MMK” episode was full of lies, insisting that she never asked money from the singer.

Saying the episode merely put her in a bad light, Mrs. Pempengco said: "Isa lang mensahe ko sa kanya huwag na niyang dagdagan pa ang kasalanan niya.

MESSAGE TO OLD SELF

Aside from giving a message to his mother, Jake Zyrus also thanked Charice, his former self before he came out as a transman.

“To Charice, You will always be here in my heart. Grabe ka. Pinaiyak, pinatawa mo ako. Napaka-interesting ng buhay mo. Napakaganda. Salamat Charice. Wait for me at the top of the Pyramid,” he said.

He likewise thanked all his supporters who stayed by his side no matter what.

Zyrus said he agreed to tell his story on the drama anthology to inspire and make other people understand that everybody deserves the respect due them.

“Sana ay ang makuha po ninyo ay ang maintindihan ang lahat, mahalin ang kapwa, irespeto at tanggapin natin sila kahit hindi natin sila naiintindihan,” he said.
