MANILA - Actor Xian Lim took the ice bucket challenge on Wednesday after he was nominated by the president and CEO of McDonald's Philippines, Kenneth Yang.
On his official Instagram account, Lim, who is one of the fast food chain's local endorsers, posted a video of him doing the challenge.
He then nominated Adi Timbol of Golden Arches Development Corp., and Arlie Salagantin and Gidget dela Cuesta of ABS-CBN's talent management arm Star Magic.
Lim joins a growing list of local celebrities taking up the challenge, which includes Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla, and Kathryn Bernardo.
A host of celebrity couples such as Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano have also joined the cause, which aims to raise awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), otherwise known as the Lou Gehrig's disease.
The challenge dares participants to dump a bucket of ice water over their head or donate to the ALS Association or any foundation pursuing research on the disease.
As of Tuesday, the ALS Association has reportedly received almost $80 million (around P3.5 billion) in donations.
