MANILA – Alex Gonzaga is set to add another feather to her cap as she will soon launch her first book.
In an interview with the entertainment site Pep, Gonzaga said her book aims to help teenagers who have problems concerning their love life.
“I’m an author. Hindi naman talaga to express my feelings and gusto ko talaga magsulat. It’s because I really want to help young girls,” she said.
“I know I’m not credible enough. Sinasabi nila, bakit daw ako gagawa ng book. Hindi ko naman sinasabi na you have to read this book because nag-doctorate ako, may PhD ako. I just want to impart the wisdom I got sa process ng aking paghi-heal ng puso ko, why I’m still single and what went wrong,” she added.
Gonzaga said she wrote the book to tell young girls how to properly deal with heartbreak.
“Gusto natin i-share yun sa mga young girls na akala nila end of the world na nila kapag na-heartbroken or bakit hindi pa sila nagkaka-boyfriend, or yung mga gusto nila ayaw naman sa kanila. Lahat ng mga natutunan ko, lahat ng advice ng pamilya ko, ng ate ko, ng mga kaibigan ko, ng mga nabasa ko inilathala ko sa libro. The book is not to entertain or anything. It’s to help young girls,” she said.
Gonzaga was formerly in a relationship with Callalily vocalist Kean Cipriano. She was also linked to “It’s Showtime” host Ryan Bang, although she has repeatedly clarified that she only sees him as a younger brother.
Meanwhile, aside from her upcoming book launch, Gonzaga is grateful that God is continuously giving her blessings.
“Sobrang swerte ko na tinanggap ako ulit ng ABS-CBN management, binigyan nila ako ng trabaho. The fact na tinanggap nila ako ulit sa station, binigyan nila ako ng contract, it’s enough for me. Hindi ko na inisip na, ‘Ay dapat magkaganito akong show.’ The fact na tinanggap ako, [sobrang swerte ko na],” she said.
Right now, Gonzaga headlines the afternoon series “Pure Love”. She also regularly appears on “ASAP” every Sunday, and she was among the hosts of the recently concluded “The Voice Kids”.
