MANILA – TV host and actress Kris Aquino was rushed to the hospital after a severe vascular headache caused her blood pressure to shoot up.
On Instagam, Aquino said it was her siblings who insisted that she go to the hospital on Monday after she finished her taping for "Kris TV."
Apart from the headache, she also threw up three times.
“When I got home at 6:30 p.m. and when my blood pressure was taken it was 150/100. My sisters insisted I go to the ER because my symptoms were alarming. At the ER my BP was 200/110. Just a bit higher could have caused a stroke,” she wrote.
Aquino said she already underwent complete blood tests and ECG and was advised by her doctors to have a complete rest in the coming days.
“I solemnly promise to follow all their instructions, take my medication and I will never again abuse my body because I was a slave to my work. My goal now is to achieve a healthy work and life balance,” she said.
According to Aquino, what happened to her was “a scary wake-up call” but it also made her realize how much her family loves her.
“It really put my priorities in proper perspective. I was told to have complete rest for the next few days and to try to be stress free. So I'll be signing off while I recuperate,” she said.
Aquino then thanked her siblings and her doctors for taking care of her.
Aquino said her brother, President Benigno Aquino III, also visited her at the hospital immediately after he landed at the airport from his Cebu trip.
Despite her condition, the TV host shared what her brother has told her regarding the current issue on balikbayan boxes.
“PNoy said, ‘Kristina, 'yung sa Customs they'll give a thorough explanation and a demonstration of the x-ray machines to be used on Wednesday.’ I hope that I remembered his message accurately and I pray for a peaceful resolution for all concerned,” she said.
Aside from her regular taping of “Kris TV” episodes, Aquino has also been busy shooting her upcoming movie “Etiquette for Mistresses” which is slated for release in September.
In a previous post, Aquino said she’s only had one day off so far for the entire month of August.
