MANILA -- "The Voice Kids" champion Lyca Gairanod has joined the cast of "Hawak Kamay," marking her debut on primetime TV.
In the ABS-CBN series' episode on Friday, Gairanod appeared as a sampaguita vendor named Lilet. Seeking shelter from heavy rains, Lilet chanced upon the compound where Gin (Piolo Pascual) and his family lives.
After getting caught asleep on a table, Lilet apologized for entering the compound without their permission.
Gairanod's casting in "Hawak Kamay" comes on the heels of the massive success of her acting debut in "Maalaala Mo Kaya," which posted a nationwide rating of 38.4% last Saturday, according to Kantar Media.
Now dubbed a "Little Superstar," Gairanod has also been cast in the Vice Ganda-starrer "Praybeyt Benjamin 2," which will compete in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
This is on top of a singing career that's poised to take off this year, with a solo album in the works under MCA Universal, and a guest stint in music veteran Lani Misalucha's upcoming concert tour.
