MANILA -- Former couple Robin Padilla and Vina Morales will reunite on the big screen in the upcoming biopic "Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo," which is an entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
In her official Instagram account on Thursday, Morales shared her excitement to work again with Padilla after the blockbuster hit "Utol Kong Hoodlum" in 1992.
In the film, Morales will play Bonifacio's wife Gregoria de Jesus.
Morales also thanked Padilla's wife Mariel Rodriguez, as well as producer Rina Navarro.
She also noted that their "proud Pinoy" director, Filipino-American Enzo Williams, was the man behind the award-winning short film "Cain," which won first place at a competition by the cinema department of the Los Angeles City College.
The singer-actress was first taken by Padilla's charms when they starred in "Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum" in 1991. The team-up became a hit among fans, such that a sequel to to the action film was released a year later.
"Lahat naman siguro, mai-inlove talaga kay Robin, 'di ba? .. Puppy love talaga 'yung kay Robin," Morales said at a previous interview.
Before "Bonifacio," Padilla and Morales were also featured in a special episode of the drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya" in 2011.
