MANILA - Twenty ABS-CBN talents, including teleserye stars Jodi Sta. Maria and Piolo Pascual, will remain with the TV network after signing their respective contracts in recent weeks.
In batches, several of ABS-CBN's top actors inked new deals to remain Kapamilya talents with executives of the network, including president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio, broadcast head Cory Vidanes, TV production head Laurenti Dyogi, Star Cinema head Malou Santos, and Star Magic's Johnny Manahan.
On Wednesday, six artists had their contract-signing -- Sta. Maria, Angelica Panganiban, Sam Milby, Xian Lim, Janella Salvador and Denise Laurel.
Panganiban and actor Gerald Anderson are currently shooting a Star Cinema movie, while Sta. Maria and Salvador continue to be cast members of the daytime hit "Be Careful With My Heart." Aside from a comedy film co-starring Kim Chiu and Ai Ai delas Alas, Lim will star in a new TV series later this year.
Last Thursday, "The Voice Kids" runner-up Morissette Amon also signed up with Star Records. Dubbed the "Next Big Diva," Amon is now recording her debut album.
On the same day, nine Kapamilya artists renewed their contract with ABS-CBN -- Pascual, Anderson, Chiu, Maja Salvador, Enchong Dee, Erich Gonzales, Shaina Magdayao, Bea Alonzo, and Pokwang.
Pascual and Chiu currently appear in the primetime series "Hawak Kamay" and "Ikaw Lamang," respectively. Similarly, Alonzo top-bills another Primetime Bida offering, "Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon." Salvador, meanwhile, will team up with Jericho Rosales anew in a teleserye with the working title "Bridges."
Vhong Navarro, Billy Crawford, KC Concepcion, and Richard Yap earlier signed their respective contracts in July. Concepcion recently joined the cast of "Ikaw Lamang," while Navarro and Crawford continue to entertain on noontime via "It's Showtime."
