MANILA, Philippines -- Veteran actress Hilda Koronel admitted that it took a while before she accepted the offer to be part of Star Cinema's upcoming movie "The Mistress."
But Koronel said one of the factors that convinced her to accept the part of a wife of a philandering husband is the opportunity to work again with the movie's lead stars John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo.
"Siyempre I was happy kasi I like a good cast. Aside from good story and good director, siyempre you'd like to have a good cast and I've worked with them before," Koronel said.
Koronal, Cruz and Alonzo last worked on the ABS-CBN series "Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin."
The veteran actress, who is now based in the United States with her husband, admitted that she was nervous yet excited about her movie comeback.
"I was a little bit scared but I was also excited kasi siyempre matagal akong nawala," she said. "First day we did all, mga iyakan na kami, acting na talaga. So sabi ko, 'OK, OK I feel better.'"
Koronel, best known for her performance in Lino Brocka's classic film "Insiang," is hoping that moviegoers will like her comeback project.
"Well, makikita [niyo] ang dating Hilda and I hope matuwa 'yung mga fans at iba pang naghahangad na makita tayo ulit sa pelikula," she said.
