MANILA – Still shaking after allegedly trying to jump off a hotel building in Quezon City last Saturday, comedian Jobert Austria, who was brought to the Kamuning police station, begged for help and insisted that someone wants to kill him.

In an exclusive interview with "The Buzz" aired on Sunday, the "Banana Split" cast member said an influential man has been calling and threatening him for some time now.

Nasa Cainta raw si Jobert," he recalled unidentified men talking on the phone.

"Takot ako kasi alam kong maimpluwensiya 'yung lalaki. Alam niya 'yung galaw ko e. May pera e…

The threats, Austria shared, are connected to his relationship with his Canada-based girlfriend, who recently returned to the country for vacation.

Ginugulpi siya," he added.

Asked why he was staying in Hotel Sogo along Quezon Avenue when he allegedly attempted to jump off the hotel building, he explained that he was "suspiciously" banned from her girlfriend's condominium.

Austria said his girlfriend, who was at the airport at that time, called and told him she didn't ban him from the condominium.

The comedian also clarified that he was not trying to end his life when he was seen on the edge of the hotel building that night.

He said he was trying to get attention because the men, who are allegedly after him, were waiting outside the hotel.

Austria admitted that he was under the influence of alcohol that night and has not been eating for the past few days because of fear and depression.

His "Banana Split" friends immediately rushed to the scene after Austria messaged them about the situation.

Mortiz and Austria has been working together in "Banana Split" for quite a while.

He said Austria once left the show, and when the comedian came back, he noticed several changes in his behavior.

"Dati wala akong nakikitang problema sa kanya. Masaya lang kami sa set. Pero noong bumalik siya, minsan very emotional pagkausap mo," he said, "Pinaka-issue lagi naming naririnig is 'yung away nga sa girlfriend. Kapag nag-aaway sila, talagang depressed siya,"

Meanwhile, Austria admitted that he once underwent rehabilitation for his drug use before. His friends are now planning to send Austria back to rehab after the incident.
