Following reports of Barretto's involvement in an acting project at TV5, its head of creative and entertainment production, Perci Intalan, denied that the former Kapamilya actress has been offered a long-term contract with the the No. 3 network.
"There are no talks about future projects yet," Intalan told the Philippine Daily Inquirer. "Nothing long-term."
Early this week, Barretto was reported to be filming an episode of a drama anthology that airs on TV5. This fueled speculations that the actress, after her stay with GMA-7 since 2009, is set to become a talent of the Manny Pangilinan-owned network.
'You'll never know'
According to journalist Raffy Tulfo, whose siblings have an ongoing legal feud with Barretto and her husband Raymart Santiago, TV5 entertainment talk show host Cristy Fermin supposedly confirmed the actress' rumored transfer.
However, Intalan said: "We don't want to make or break anybody. There was a role suited for Claudine, so we got her for the episode."
Quizzed on whether TV5 is considering to offer a contract to Barretto later on, Intalan said: "You'll never know."
A former artist of ABS-CBN's talent management firm Star Magic, Barretto was a contract artist of the Kapamilya network for 17 years, before she signed an exclusive contract with GMA-7 in 2009.
