MANILA - Actor Dingdong Dantes took to the microblogging site Twitter over the weekend to thank his fans and those who have supported his relationship with soon-to-be-wife Marian Rivera.
Dantes proposed to Rivera in the latter's dance program on Saturday.
On Twitter, Dantes said all those who wished him and Rivera well are part of their "love story."
"Thank you to all the well wishers...you are all part of our love story. This is certainly one for the books. Life changing! Cheers!" he wrote.
On Instagram, Rivera happily announced that she and Dantes are engaged as she uploaded a photo that showed her engagement ring.
"I am so grateful to share with everyone that Dong and I are engaged. #ForeverStartsToday," Rivera wrote as the photo's caption.
Dantes was among the special guests in Rivera's birthday celebration on her show, "Marian", aired on GMA.
Prior to the actual proposal, Dantes went on stage to "interview" Rivera, showing her some of their pictures and asking her to explain each one.
Dantes then went on his knees and asked Rivera to be his wife.
The couple sealed the proposal with a kiss and a last dance as boyfriend and girlfriend.
