MANILA - TV Host Ryan Bang has apologized over his "jokes" about Alex Gonzaga that led to the actress-host's decision to end their long-standing friendship.
In an interview with "The Buzz" aired on Sunday, Bang explained that when he called Gonzaga "echosera" after he got busted by the actress, it was supposed to be a joke and that he did not mean to hurt his friend.
"Nalungkot ako siyempre. Sobrang nalungkot ako. Pero ako 'yung mali, ako 'yung nagsalita. Pero ako naman, patawa lang ako. Hindi naman ako serious na 'echosera' siya," he said.
Bang admitted he did not choose his words well in his first-ever press conference.
Sorry talaga," he said.
Bang said he already learned his lesson and vowed to be more careful with his words in the future.
Gonzaga already said she was hurt by Bang's statements, as she ended their friendship.
While the actress said she has already talked with Bang, she believes their friendship has already been "tainted."
Nag-usap kami. Siguro misunderstanding and ayoko na ipilit kung di kami nagkakaintindihan talaga. Tainted na talaga 'yung friendship namin," she said.
Although he is now happy with his girlfriend, the "Showtime" host said he is still hoping that Gonzaga will not completely close her doors on him as a friend.
Lalo si Cathy, sobang bait sa 'kin niyan, lagi niya akong inaalagaan," he said.
